About Smoke-Free Housing
Welcome to Smoke-Free Housing Indiana. This is a collaboration between the American Lung Association in Indiana and the Indiana Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission.
The goal is to provide up-to-date information and technical assistance to all Hoosiers interested in smoke-free housing. The health of Indiana residents is important and limiting exposure to secondhand smoke in both the home and workplace will greatly impact an individual’s health.
Smoke-Free Housing Indiana can assist renters and landlords with smoke-free living issues to have the best properties in their communities. Smoke-free housing is healthier, reduces property damage and fire dangers, saves property owners and managers money, and saves lives.

Having a smoke-free policy reduces property damage, fire danger and saves property owners and managers money. Smoke-free policies are becoming more common in multi-family housing and Smoke-free Housing Indiana is here to assist landlords, managers, and owners in making their property smoke-free. We also provide tobacco free coalitions with the resources they need to further assist the properties in their communities who are interested in implementing a smoke-free housing policy.
